5 Tips for a Strong Start to Your Gym Life
New to a gym or planning to join a gym for the first time? It is absolutely fine to be nervous at the beginning as you’ll be stepping outside your comfort zone and pursue tough challenges but you’ll definitely feel more confident as you go. Here we bring you 5 tips to boost that confidence as you embark on a new journey that takes you towards your fitness goal.
Find Joy in Working Out
You are just starting your fitness journey and you want it to be enjoyable. It should not feel as if you are forced to do something. Explore a variety of exercises that you can perform first to discover which you find exciting. That helps you build a positive perception towards training and you’ll be motivated to go to the gym with consistency. If you hate doing something at first, don’t do it.
Lifting weights – Not reserved for Men
Ladies, just shed any thoughts that weight lifting is not meant for you as it might make you manly. That is 100% not true. You can build your strength and get into great shape as well as feel awesome with weight-lifting workouts. Don’t think that cardio is the only thing you can resort to at a gym.
Seek Help. You Need It!
You see a lot of equipment around the gym but you don’t know how or what to work with as a beginner. Just because you watched your favorite athlete or celebrity do some workouts does not mean that you can do the same right from the word go. You need an expert mind to guide you with the right exercises based on your current fitness level, body composition, and your fitness goal. Don’t hesitate to seek trainer’s help especially if you’re new to the fitness arena.
Breaks are Crucial
You don’t have to work every single day of the week for long hours to get results. In fact pushing your body every day may limit your potential to go that extra mile rendering you unable to perform the intense workouts. Instead work for 3-4 days a week that include some intense workout sessions with alternate rest days. During the breaks, you can enjoy simpler activities with a jog or play a sport you are interested in.
Get the Basics Right
You don’t need to consume protein supplements or performance boosters to get the results. Just getting some basics right as mentioned below can give you the desired results. Ensure that you do these consistently and watch results come your way.
- At least 7 hours of sleep every day
- Stay hydrated throughout the day
- Practise stress relaxation techniques
- Ensure rest days
- Don’t skip breakfast.
- Intake nutritious, balanced diet.
If you are able to follow all these things to dot, there is no reason why you can’t make your gym life fruitful as well as enjoyable!
