8 Simple Ways to Incorporate Exercise into Daily Life

The Efficient Eight!

You might be having a hectic professional life that wouldn’t allow you to allocate time for exercise or physical training. But if you make these simple yet significant changes in your daily professional as well as personal life, you will find that you too are getting the adequate workout without actually trying for it! Let’s have a look at them.

Errands on Walk

Almost everyone owns a bike or a car now. But before you take it for any errands, consider the distance you should travel. If you feel that you can make it by walk and you have the time to do it, then forget about your vehicle. Enjoy a pleasant walk!

Ditch the Lift

Do you really think you must need a lift if your work place is on the second or third floor? It’s just a one way trip for that moment, right? Again, give your legs some action and climb the stairs to your office. The same can be applied if you live in an apartment at a higher floor.

Also if you can’t find a parking spot near your working place. Consider it a blessing in disguise!

Walk the Talk

Have to call a client or a customer? You can do it by pacing across your work space as well! You are doing your job as well as getting a bit of exercising done too. Seize those small moments.

The Essential 5 Minute Break

Sitting continuously for 8 hours per day stiffens your muscles and is also harmful for them in the long run. Make it a habit to take a 5 minute break every hour, get up and take a stroll around your work space. Give your muscles and joints a breather and let them ease up. It’s also good to have a post-lunch walk outside.

Use Public Transit

Give your personal vehicle a break for a couple of days a week. Going by public transport to your work place will mean that your legs are getting a good exercise for these two days as you would need to walk a few paces to your bus stop or a nearby metro station.

The Alternate Recreation

Instead of spending an hour or two with your colleagues in the recreation club at your office, go for a walk to your nearest park or a playground. If you are interested in outdoor sports, you can have a go at it.

The Weekend Activity

You will find a bit of time for some exercise during weekends. Even if you are not a big fan of stretching or intense training, you can always get some physical activity done. Take some time to organize your room, clean the space, and do some gardening. They always need some tending.

Family Time

Nothing beats this. It is recommended you sever connection with the electronic and multimedia at least for an hour after your dinner and spend some quality time with your family. Go to the terrace, discuss your day, and your favourite topics with each other. It’s healthy not just from a physical point of view, but also a great relief to your mind.

Spend some outdoor time with your kids during the holidays and weekends.  Let them know the importance being physically active and help them not become addicted to the electronic world.
