Want to Transform? Don’t Commit These Mistakes First
While commencing a training regimen, most people seek guidance and suggestions on what they have to do right to be successful. But along with that, ‘what I should not do’ is also an important part to learn. Here are some common mistakes you should avoid when you are training.
Dream Big but Don’t Overreach!
Of course, it is always recommended to dream big and go big in any aspect of your life to be highly successful. But ensure that it’s not so big that it’s unrealistic or unattainable in the first place. Mostly unrealistic goals set by many individuals are mostly associated with aiming to achieve multiple goals in a limited time. It is always recommended to pursue a single objective at a time and then gradually build on that. Be reasonable, be realistic, and don’t overreach!
Get Inspired but Don’t Compare
There’s nothing wrong in getting motivated and inspired by watching your favorite athlete or a bodybuilder perform the most intense and toughest of workouts with ease. What you watch is the result of years of hard work, discipline, and dedication but not an overnight transformation. So, when you begin your training, instead of comparing your performance with theirs, compare your current performance with that of last week’s or last month’s performance. That’s the only comparison you should go for!
Don’t Push It
Impatience could be a real sabotaging factor. Just because you want to see quicker results does not mean that you can push your body to more than it could handle. Breaks are as much as important as the training program itself. Don’t turn a minor injury or a setback into a major one by ignoring what your body needs. If it needs some time-out, give it. Just remember – Be consistent with your breaks!
Don’t Be Inconsistent
Yes. We’ll pick up where we left off from the previous point. It’s easy to lose your concentration and focus when you are taking a break or facing some personal or professional challenges. Ensure that that you don’t take too long or huge breaks to get back to your workout routine. In fact, if you are consistent with your workout routine, your mind will be well-equipped with a strength that can greatly aid you in facing real-life challenges!
If you are a beginner and you got off to a good and disciplined start with your workout regimen, you will most likely observe a good rate of progress in the first few days or weeks. But don’t be disheartened or demotivated if you don’t observe the same rate of progress on a consistent basis. The only consistency should be in your efforts and that gives you the desired result ultimately!
